How long does a temporary email address last?

Are temporary emails safe to use?
For receiving a signup confirmation or a one-time code, yes — and it is safer than handing your real address to a site you do not trust, because it cannot be used to spam you later. It is not safe for anything you need to keep: never use a disposable address for banking, government services, work accounts, or password recovery.
Can a temporary email be traced back to me?

Can I get a .edu or student email address here?
No. We cannot issue .edu addresses, and no temporary email service can. Universities control those domains, and services that offer student discounts verify enrolment independently of the email address you use.

This service is receive-only. You cannot reply, forward or send from a temporary address, and there is no way to do so through this site.

Anyone who learns both your address and its recovery code can open the inbox, so treat the recovery code the way you would treat a password. Never use a temporary address for a bank, a government service, a work account, or anything you would be unable to replace — the address expires and cannot be recovered afterwards.
